Heading to Korea? Here’s Your Desi Packing Survival Guide

Planning your move to Korea? Whether you're going to study, work, or just live out your K-drama dreams, packing can be a mini-crisis. You think you’ve got everything… until winter hits and you're wearing three T-shirts because you forgot a proper jacket.

That’s where this desi-approved checklist comes in. We’ve broken down everything you might need into quick categories-from clothes to cookware, so you don’t end up begging your cousin to ship turmeric from India.

🧥 Clothes for All Seasons

Korea gets freezing cold in winter and surprisingly humid in summer. So yes, pack your thermals, winter jacket, and that shawl your nani insists is magic. Don’t skip lounge pants either, you’ll thank yourself during those 10-hour study sessions.

🍱 Food & Kitchen Stuff

Pack a little taste of home. We’re talking aata, poha, masalas, a small pressure cooker, Maggi (obviously), and dry snacks. Don’t go overboard, though it’s not a cargo shipment.

💊 Toiletries & Medicines

Pack your preferred pads, shampoos, a tiny bottle of hair oil, and some basic medicines with prescriptions. Korean stores are amazing, but your stomach might still prefer Digene.

🔌 Electronics & Stationery

Get a universal adapter (yes, that weird plug), all your chargers, and an extension board. Add notebooks, pens, and folders for that first day of class but make it aesthetic vibe.

🛏️ Random Stuff That Saves You

A bedsheet or two, a laundry bag, and passport-sized photos. These feel minor now but turn heroic when you're in a new city, trying to set up life in a dorm room with echoey walls.
